What stays the same, and what can change

The work happens inside your existing site, so your account, plan, domain and billing stay yours and stay unchanged. Wix also limits what anyone you invite can do: whatever their role, collaborators can’t delete or duplicate a site, transfer its ownership, assign Premium plans or connect a domain they own.

• Your other pages and their addresses. Each page’s address ends in a URL slug kept in that page’s own SEO settings, so rebuilding the home page leaves the rest alone.
• Your home page’s search settings. Its title tag, meta description and URL slug sit in the page’s SEO Basics panel, and they stay unchanged unless you ask for a change.

Your header can change, and that’s usually the point. Wix shows the header across the top of every page, so a phone number added there appears site-wide.

Switching templates is the change this rebuild avoids. Wix can’t switch the template of a site you already have, so a new template means a new site; the page on changing a Wix template covers the rest.

How you give us access, without your password

On Wix you invite us as a collaborator from your dashboard. We sign in with our own Wix account, so your login stays yours.

1. In your site’s dashboard, open Settings, then Roles & Permissions.
2. Click Invite Collaborators and enter yaz@katsa.co in the Emails field.
3. Tick the Website Manager role. Wix describes it as able to manage, edit and publish the site, but not to manage billing or delete, duplicate or transfer the site.
4. Click Send Invites. The invitation stays valid for 30 days.

Once the page is live, you can remove us from the same page: click More Actions next to our name, then Remove.

How to undo it

Wix keeps a Site History of saved and published versions, with the email of whoever made each change. Restoring a version takes the whole site back to it and erases every change made after it.

Some things don’t roll back: content in Wix apps such as Stores, Blog and Bookings, your contacts, CMS collection content and media galleries, which always show the latest saved version. Changes in a page’s SEO panel do roll back; site-wide SEO settings don’t.

What matters for a builder’s home page on Wix

• The mobile layout is its own layer. Wix builds your mobile site from the desktop one and carries desktop changes over, but changes made in the mobile editor stay on mobile, and Wix hides elements that don’t fit a phone, listing them in the Hidden on Mobile panel. Check your home page on a phone, not only on a computer.
• One person edits at a time. Wix warns that editing in the Wix Editor at the same time as someone else can cause unexpected behavior, so hold off on your own edits while we work.
• Nothing goes live until someone clicks Publish. Wix keeps editor changes off your live site until then, and Preview shows the page the way visitors will see it.
• The Wix Editor and the Studio Editor are separate. A site built in one can’t move to the other, so the rebuild happens in whichever editor your site already uses.
• Your phone number belongs in the header as a tap-to-call link. The tap-to-call page shows how to set that up on Wix.
